Our Story

SSF Organics was born from a deep love of the land and a belief that nature provides everything we need to heal. Nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains in Bella Vista, Arkansas, we are a women-owned farm dedicated to growing, wildcrafting, and handcrafting herbal products rooted in traditional holistic wisdom.

Our journey began with a personal connection to herbal healing — a recognition that the plants growing wild around us held profound medicine. That spark grew into a mission: to share the healing power of the Ozarks with the world, one carefully crafted product at a time.

Wildcrafting in the Ozark Mountains

The Ozark Mountains are one of North America's most biodiverse regions, rich with medicinal plants that have been used for centuries by indigenous and Appalachian folk healers. We wildcraft these plants with deep respect — harvesting only what the land can sustainably offer, leaving plenty for wildlife and future growth.

Every herb we gather is identified, harvested, and processed by hand. From wild-harvested comfrey to native botanicals, our ingredients carry the vitality of plants grown in their natural habitat — something no commercial farm can replicate.

Permaculture Farming Practices

What we don't wildcraft, we grow ourselves — using permaculture principles that work with nature rather than against it. Our farm is designed to be a self-sustaining ecosystem: building healthy soil, conserving water, supporting pollinators, and eliminating the need for synthetic inputs of any kind.

Permaculture isn't just a farming method for us — it's a philosophy. It means thinking in systems, caring for the earth, and recognizing that healthy land produces healthy plants, which produce truly healing products.
